Kayaks
Added to Outdoor ESCAPES New Hampshire's Paddling Fleet
For adventurists looking to try something
new or different, autumn paddle trips are being offered on lakes and rivers
around New Hampshire. Outdoor ESCAPES New Hampshire, LLC, based near Lake
Winnipesaukee, provides opportunities for individuals, families, and groups
to experience wilderness travel by means of traditional methods, such as
walking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and paddling. Canoes and kayaks
have been around for centuries. Native Americans used them for hunting,
fishing, and trading.
These new sit-on-top style kayaks are
stable and are used to take participants on lakes, in the ocean, and down
rivers. Owner, guide, and instructor Lucie LaPlante Villeneuve Villeneuve is excited to take
people on custom paddle trips to see the fall foliage and wildlife: “People
of all ages are enjoying these kayaks to explore places in New Hampshire
that you can’t see from the road.” She also notes that some groups and
families prefer to also bring a canoe or two and everyone switches around
during the trip.
Paddling locations, from Pittsburg to
Portsmouth, are chosen carefully and group size is limited in order to
provide a true wilderness experience. Trips and lessons may be 2 hours or up
to four days, and can include meals, survival skills, and wilderness camping
or other lodging. For more information and reservations, please call
