Lucie
(LaPlante) Villeneuve
Owner, Wilderness
Guide, Outdoor Educator
A
descendant of French-Canadian woodsmen and Acadian survivors, Lucie has been a professional wilderness guide and outdoor educator in
New Hampshire for over 18 years. Her interest in the great outdoors began as
a child with family trips in New Hampshire as well as throughout
Canada. Her favorite sports are cross country skiing and
paddling and she specializes in guiding families and women's
groups.
Lucie was born and brought up in the Lakes Region between Lake Winnipesaukee and Squam Lake.
She loves teaching outdoor
skills and nature knowledge, as well as sharing her passion and
respect for New Hampshire’s history, recreation, and wildlife.
"I started this guide service (in 2003) because my dream is to pass on the tradition of wilderness travel,
by giving people the experience, knowledge, and skills to go out
and be safe."
When she is not
planning and leading trips, Lucie is a mom of two young children
and runs another business.

Peter Villeneuve
Guide and Instructor; Lucie's
Great Catch
Peter
is from New Hampshire's Great North Woods (aka The Grand North). He
spent much of his childhood outdoors with his family and
neighbors hunting, ice fishing, on dirt bikes, snowmobiles, and
cross country skis. After meeting Lucie about 14 years ago, he got
into mountain biking, both technical and downhill. Together,
they spent a lot of quality time getting familiar with New Hampshire's year-round
trails, backpack trips, and week-long canoe trips on the
Connecticut and Androscoggin Rivers.
Peter enjoys a career being a machinist, but due to his
congenial rapport and local knowledge of New Hampshire, he is in demand for weekend adventures. He enjoys leading hikers to see
great views, is an excellent animal tracker/spotter, and loves to teach
mountain biking, whitewater canoeing, sit-on-top kayaking,
snowshoeing, and skiing.
"The best thing I like about our outdoor adventures is the fresh
air and seeing everything we get to see." |

Sorry, we currently do not have any positions open.
Wilderness
areas provide us with unforgettable experiences. But with recreation comes
responsibility. As we enjoy the incredible wonders of our natural resources, we
also recognize that humans are visitors to the homes of many species. As
witnesses to this diversity, we respectfully keep our distance from wildlife,
carry out all that we carry in, and try to leave no signs of our visit.

I
have created and continue to update this website myself. My
husband and I have taken most of the photos you see while guiding adventures,
unless otherwise noted. I hope you enjoy the photos, but they
really don't do justice to actually being out there in the wilderness yourself. Please
let me know if you have any questions or comments about the site. --Lucie
