Black
Diamond X-C Ski Lodge-to-Lodge Tour
Guided back country skiing for experienced classical
skiers
in the snowiest part of New Hampshire! Activity
options available.

Bring your skis or rentals (wide touring or
backcountry--not downhill telemark) and discover the deep woods of the
Northern Forest. You'll see signs of boreal wildlife (including moose
and snowshoe hare), frozen
mountain streams, and dark, starry skies. The fresh air is a great match for the exercise you'll
be getting during your 40-75 miles of wilderness travel. Each day you will
ski or snowshoe to different types of lodging. This unique winter/early
spring package comes with hearty food, cozy beds, and great service.
Includes fully guided trip with
meals, guided ski and snowshoe tours, nature and history interpretation, lodging, luggage transport,
and shuttle. You may opt for other seasonal activities (price will be
adjusted during the reservation process) such as ice fishing, snowmobiling,
S.U.V. sightseeing tour, dog sledding, and time for tax-free shopping.
You will
ski on ungroomed logging roads and designated cross country ski trails whenever possible, but the majority of
time will be on wide snowmobile corridors.

Itinerary (can be flexible with options)
Day 1--Arrival at Sportsman's Lodge, known as a hunting/fishing camp.
Dinner on site.
Day 2--After a hearty breakfast, your cross country ski guide will lead you
through the northern forest on snowmobile trails, then on to our
favorite groomed cross country ski trails. After skiing approx. 7 miles
(11.25 km), you'll stay tonight
at an historic grand hotel, The BALSAMS, with dinner and breakfast.
Day 3--Continuing on groomed cross country trails at
first, we'll switch to forest roads, which are snowmobile trails, to a
mountain top with grand views. Ski gently down to a remote bed and breakfast
still in moose country, for a total of approx. 10 miles (16.5 km): A
Peace of Heaven. Dinner nearby.
Day 4--Breakfast to order at the B & B, then up to 13
miles (21.25 km) of skiing on
snowmobile trails through forests with views. Options include: over, or
around, a mountain, and across a frozen lake. Stay at a cozy cabin,
Great Northwoods Get-A-Way, and dinner nearby in town.
Day 5--Breakfast at cabin. Skiing becomes more level,
following a stream approx. 2.5 miles (3.75 km) to the next destination,
a riverside bed and breakfast, 150 Main Street on the Androscoggin. There will be time then for more skiing, snowshoeing,
or other options--skiing 1 to 8 miles (1.6 km to 16 km) today. Dinner 8 miles out of town--look
for moose!
Day 6--Breakfast in town. Ski through the North Woods once
more. Logging roads and snowmobile trials will offer one last chance to
find moose antlers and winter wildlife. Arrive at Great Northern Moose
Lodge in Dummer, NH.
Day 7--Continental breakfast and departure.
